West Bay gears up for Feed Our Future Century bike ride
Up to 100 bike riders will pedal 100 miles around Cayman this Sunday for the annual Century Bike Ride.
Feed our Future will be hosting their now annual event on April 7, beginning at 5am.
“Our annual Century ride is always a powerful demonstration of our community rallying together to combat hunger in Cayman’s schools, with riding enthusiasts of all levels coming out in to support our cause,” says Daniel Cummings, a director of Feed Our Future.
“We sincerely appreciate the support of the sponsors, volunteers and riders who contribute to this event’s success and we look forward to another successful ride!”
The event will begin at the Pappagallo Restaurant in West Bay and the cyclists will be riding to North Side and then back to Pappagallo. The event is expected to end at 1pm.
No roads will be closed for this event but motorists are advised to exercise caution and be mindful of any cyclists they may encounter when travelling on Sunday morning.
Up to 100 riders will take part, with a celebratory pasta brunch at Ristorante Pappagallo, the start and finish point of the route.
There will be marked refreshment stops along the way, along with mapped out restrooms. The stops at Frank Sound (on the way out and back) and Rum Point will be stocked with fruit, Gatorade, water, energy bars and gels.
