West Bay man charged with abduction, assault & threats to kill

A 21-year-old West Bay man has been charged with Abduction, Assault ABH, Threats to Kill, Damage to Property and Carrying an Offensive Weapon after an alleged assault on a woman.

On January 9, officers responded to a report of an assault at a location in the Morgans Harbour area of West Bay. A woman had left work at another location when she was allegedly approached by a man known to her, who threatened her with a knife and forced her to leave in his vehicle.

He then drove her to Morgans Harbour, where she got out of the car and was assisted by a member of the public, it is further alleged. A struggle ensued, during which she was struck in the head and the man damaged the window of another vehicle at the location.

The man then fled the location in his vehicle.

He is due in court today.
