West Bay woman steals ex’s credit card, spends over USD $1000

A West Bay woman was bailed after it is alleged that she stole her estranged partner’s credit card and went on a spending spree, racking up over $1,000 USD in purchases.

The 29-year-old woman was arrested by the RCIPS Financial Crime Unit who was charged on ten (10 counts of obtaining property by deception and three counts of attempting to obtain properties by deception.

Reports are that the woman fraudulently used the credit card in restaurants and retail establishments in Grand Cayman to make purchases to a value of USD$1977.99, with further attempts made swipe the card for a further $1248.80 USD

The woman is to appear in summary court on 15 August.
