Bandits armed with machetes and handguns rob bus passengers

On Wednesday night, a number of bus passengers at a bus stop in George Town fell victim to three armed robbers.

Just after 8 pm, on July 29, police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre, to the junction of Shedden Road and Eastern Avenue, where it was reported that a robbery was taking place at the public transport bus stop involving three men, two of whom were armed with machetes and the other believed to be carrying a handgun.

The men were believed to have been wearing black and white long sleeve clothing and masks.
