Cayman: Another traveller is positive; COVID-patient on ventilator

Another traveller has tested positive for COVID-19 today out of 346 COVID-19 tests were run since yesterday, Friday.

In additional news, an individual who was in the hospital due to COVID-19 symptoms has experienced a worsening of symptoms and is now on a ventilator.

Five travellers tested positive yesterday (three tested positive on arrival in Cayman and two tested positive after 14 days of isolation).

The year 2 student from Red Bay Primary school who tested as weakly positive has been recorded as positive. This child has been recorded as symptomatic.

All positive cases remain in isolation until recovered.

This brings the total positive cases found to-date to 221.

Of these, two are symptomatic. One is in the hospital and the other is the child from Red Bay Primary who was a "weak positive."

More than 41,000 tests have been run to date.

Coughs and colds are going to come back and that's going to confuse us, said Dr. Lee.
