Cayman Chamber seeks volunteers for Earth Day cleanup in Sept

The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce has stepped up its recruitment of volunteers ahead of Earth Day cleanup exercise on September 19.

"Our beautiful environment is at the heart of what makes the Cayman Islands so special, so we look forward to seeing our Chamber members come together, along with our family and friends, to spruce up Cayman each year," the entity posted on its website.

"Chamber members are encouraged to round up more volunteers than the year before and are set loose to clean trash off the beaches and streets while our diving and watersports operators hold undersea reef cleanups," it added.

Following the exercise, volunteers will be invited to a delicious brunch "at one of our beach-side restaurants", the chamber said.

Chamber members and volunteers can check out organisations such as the National Trust and Plastic Free Cayman to see how they can help protect the local environment, or perhaps sign up for the chamber's Environmental Pledge.
