Chief Medical Officer of the Cayman Islands, Dr John Lee, said four of the 745 COVID-19 tests carried out since Thursday’s press conference have returned positive.

In a statement issued moments ago, he said three of the patients are asymptomatic and the cases are assumed to be locally acquired cases which were identified through contact tracing.

The CMO said the fourth patient came into contact with someone who previously tested positive for COVID-19.

To date, the Cayman Islands has recorded 160 cases of COVID-19 and one virus-related death.
