Here’s what you should know to rent scuba, snorkelling equipment

The Government of Cayman has lifted the ban on snorkelling and scuba diving as the island continues to record no new coronavirus cases.

Yesterday, Premier Alden McLaughlin announced measures to ensure the safe operating of the sector.

Here’s what you need to know if you wish to rent scuba diving or snorkelling equipment for either recreational or training purposes.

  • The renter must first register with the Department of Environmental Health.
  • All scuba or snorkelling equipment should be cleaned each day using an agent approved by the Department of Environmental Health for use against the coronavirus.
  • Shared scuba equipment should only be rented to customers three days apart.

The premier also announced that the prohibition of hookah, shisha pipes and water pipes remain in effect until 30 September.
