Police engage in community beautification efforts in Cayman
The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service is working with the Department of Environmental Health on ongoing beautification efforts across the Cayman Islands.
On Monday, Community Police Officers and Community Safety Officers in Bodden Town joined with residents of the North Sound Gardens community and the Department of Environmental Health, Cayman Islands Government for a community cleanup. The DEH assisted in placing garbage skips in the area to facilitate easier removal of the garbage.
As part of the cleanup, the officers also worked alongside the North Sound Gardens Citizen Association to plant fruit trees in the North Sound Gardens community park.
Last week, Community Police Officers in West Bay assisted in facilitating the removal of shrubbery and debris from a lot in the Powery Road Community of West Bay, in response to concerns from members of the community.
Community police officers continue to work with the DEH to facilitate the removal of derelict vehicles and other debris across the island.
