Police investigating serious incident in West Bay

Police are seeking public assistance with the investigation of a crime that occurred yesterday, causing a man to be seriously injured.

Just before for 9.45 pm yesterday, August 7, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a Mini Mart located along Rev Blackman Drive in West Bay. It was reported that a man attended the location seeking assistance for a serious laceration to one of his hands.

The man was attended to by Emergency Medical Services and transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he is currently being treated for a serious but non-life-threatening injury.

The circumstances surrounding the man's injury are being investigated by the police, and detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the West Bay Police Station at 949-3999.
