The US National Hurricane Centre has not issued any coastal warnings for Tropical Storm Theta as it continues to journey eastward in the Atlantic Ocean.

At 3pm GMT (10am EST), the centre of Tropical Storm Theta was located over the eastern Atlantic Ocean about 455 miles (730 km) south-southwest of the Azores.

Theta is moving toward the east near 12 mph (19 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue for the next day or so, followed by a turn to the east-southeast along with a slowing of the forward motion.

Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 205 miles (335 km) from the centre.

Little change in strength is forecast to occur during the next 36 hours.

Weakening is expected during the weekend and Theta is forecast to become a remnant low on Sunday.
