Tings tekkin' a turn in Cayman! Only one positive for COVID-19 in July
Created : 10 July 2020
As long as Cayman's borders are closed things just keep looking better and better... The Medical Officer for Health reports that of the 210 COVID-19 tests were carried out since Wednesday, all were negative-- bringing the total for the month of July to just 1.
Ever since July 1, when one positive case was reported, there have been no positive COVID-19 tests recorded on-island. There are only three active cases and none of these is symptomatic.
As of yesterday, 25,740 people were tested in total in the Cayman Islands. Of these, 201 total have been found positive, with a per cent positive rate of 0.78 per cent, one of the lowest in the world.
The numbers currently being tested are not as sizeable as in June; Chief Medical Officer, Dr John Lee has asked for those who are called for screening or are showing any symptoms to please get themselves tested.
