Tourism stipend program extended for three months

When tourism came to a halt at the beginning of the pandemic, the Ministry of tourism initially funded payments of $600 to displaced tourism sector workers which was followed by payments of $1,000 a month for three months from July thru to September which was paid to more than 2,000 workers.

The premier announced today that the stipend program would be extended from October thru to December. Persons who already received these payments would receive the funds thru to December. There is no need to re-apply.

From September 14, the registration period will be reopened.

Individuals can access the registration link at Persons interested in registering for the stipend programme must meet the following criteria:

  • Caymanian (with proof)
  • Worked in the Tourism sector
  • No longer working full-time
  • Have not applied already
