UPDATE: Journalist found dead with lacerations at Bishop Court
[2.56 pm, Monday, June 22, 2020]
Police are still combing the scene at Bishop Court Hill where two bodies were discovered.
Both individuals had lacerations about the body.
According to Police Public Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Rodney Inniss, a private company was doing work in the area this morning and called the police to report the discovery of a body. He said that police responded and arrived at the scene to confirm that there was the body of an adult male.
"Our investigations led us to a second body.
"We are still early and still active in our investigations."
He said that there is much hearsay and people are coming forward with bits and pieces, but at this stage, the police cannot disclose the identity of those deceased persons as they still need to interact with family members.
However, he went on to state: "I could not identify who the persons are at this stage but I can confirm that sadly it is the son of one of our own officers." And he said that contact has been made with the father. He said they have met with the dad.
As it stands, he added that there are still a few of areas of evidence that they need to tie in and "of course there are some suspects in the area that we have to go to."
Searching the entire area are the Forensic team, Canine Unit, other members of the Force and they are speaking to persons who would have been early witnesses at the scene.
Inniss extended his condolences on behalf of the Force.
Loop News extends deepest condolences to family, friends and loved ones of both deceased. The media fraternity in Barbados is shattered by this news.
