Dominica's Carnival is growing.

The annual pre-Lenten festival is not only attracting thousands of visitors, mainly Dominicans returning home to play mas, it is also growing in terms of events.

This year saw the addition of new fetes to the Carnival calendar such as Sunrise featuring Farmer Nappy from Trinidad and Asa Banton, the biggest star in Dominica, and the Viva La Carnival Sunrise fete.

The fetes which took place on from Carnival Friday and over the weekend, are part of a new thrust to entice more visitors to the island at that time of year.

We met up with Marva Williams, head of the Dominica Festivals Committee and Colin Piper, CEO of the Discover Dominica Tourism Authority who spoke more about the development of the Carnival.
