Zippy Farms is 'stepping it up' during lockdown

Zippy Farm is making sure that despite any food shortages that might be experienced now or in the future, Caymanians have the option of living a farm to table lifestyle.

As a wholesaler and retailer of locally grown fruits and vegetables, Zippy also sells organic fresh smoothies from its own produce, organic and raw honey produced on the farm, coconut oil, coconut meat/ jelly, coconut water and grated coconut.

Owner, Geoffrey Dixon, explains that business has suffered during the pandemic, while safety measures were being put in place, causing a temporary closure at the Market at The Cricket Grounds. Thankfully, the farmer's market reopened on May 5 and is open Wednesday thru Friday from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm and on Saturdays from 7 am to 4 pm, as per the surname letter-day system.

Zippy's fruit and vegetable availability is seasonal with tomatoes (slicing and plum), green banana, plantain, seasoning pepper, hot pepper, naseberry, papaya, okra, sweet potato, pumpkin, watermelon, grated coconut, thyme, mango, cassava and okra currently available at the farmer's market and via delivery service.

For those who love the health benefits of juices and smoothies, but want to ensure that the ingredients are local and fresh, Zippy's smoothies are available via delivery service. There are a variety of options including "Green juice" which is made of kale, spinach, cucumber, banana, honey, ginger, lime, coconut water and mango.

Those who do not wish to go to the Farmer's Market can pay a mere $2 for delivery of Zippy's many natural food and drink options, Monday thru Saturday after 1 pm.

Whatsapp 327-1832 to be added to Zippy's Whatsapp list, to be informed of what produce are available on a given day.
